Gray's Oatmeal Stout

'Big, Black, Bold'

This stout tastes extremely earthy. I feel as if I can almost taste sediment from the Mississippi River with every drink. After pouring this beer I was sure that my apartment would have that distinct 'roasted nuts' aroma that stouts give off, this stuff has some scent to it! This beer is about as no nonsense as a beer can be and I love it for it's simplicity. For some reason Gray's Oatmeal Stout reminded me of the Johnny Cash song 'Flesh and Blood' so I was forced to dig out the cd with that on it. If you could bottle Americana it would taste very much like Gray's Oatmeal Stout. I could drink this stuff every day, but it seems like it would best fit with the fall or early summer.
