Bell's Oberon Ale

"An American wheat ale brewed with Saaz hops. Spicy and fruity, Oberon is the color and scent of a summer afternoon".

Oberon is the perfect summer beer and I'm bitter that it's not available in Chicago anymore. For those not aware, due to Illinois distribution laws, Bell's decided to pull all of its beers out of Illinois locations. If you're interested in more information, check this out:

Bye-Bye Bell's

I was able to pick up a six pack of this stuff this past weekend in Indiana, and the fact that it's available is a sign of summer approaching. It's crisp, refreshing, light with a hint of citrus, and blows Goose Island's 312 out of the water. Hopefully, someday, this stuff will be readily available in Chicago again.

I think Oberon is a very good beer, but in terms of pale wheat ales I think FFF's Gumballhead is even much better than Oberon.

Nice picture, Noob!

I can see where you're coming from, Gumballhead is great, I enjoy the citrus-orange taste of Oberon a bit more than the citrus-lemon taste of Gumballhead. Just a personal preference.

I had to Google noob since I didn't know what it meant, came to find I'm an "ignorant bastard" and "have difficulty reading English and cannot comprehend the idea of authority". I'm going to go cut myself now.

I was thinking more of what a 'noob' is in terms of video games, but that will suffice just fine!

I really need to try this. I've enjoyed much of what I've had from Bell's.

I'm actually surprised you haven't reviewed the Gumballhead yet.
We should make the trek to Indiana one day and go to 3 floyds
